Maguro Spot: Fresh, Authentic Poke in the Heart of Honolulu

An XL size poke bowl. Everything was tasty and fresh. We appreciate the cashier helping us with explanation and recommendations of the menu. Recommend.

I visit the island quite often throughout each year and travel all over for work and I'm going to say it again.....there is not another place on the planet that serves the best highest freshest quality poke than this place right here. It's not even a comparison and the competitor next to them is years behind perfect what Maguro has. As soon as I land check in the hotel; the very first thing I do is come here and grab a large tuna bowl. Don't waste your time anywhere else and I promise you'll thank me after the very first bite! Wish there was more than 5 star rating because this place absolutely deserves above and beyond for what you get!!!

Very solid poke spot in Waikiki! Got the spicy spicy poke! It was very saucy and tasty! It is very busy during dinner time so recommend coming before 5pm to avoid waiting in line

Loved both the spicy wasabi ahi and the spicy spicy mayo ahi. My husband said it was the best things he's eaten in Honolulu. It's definitely top for me too. Super friendly staff and super quick service. A+, hope to go again before we leave

My favorite spot to grab a poke bowl. The fish is so fresh. It literally melts in your mouth. I had my daughter try poke for the first time here and she is usually not a raw fish sushi fan but she actually loved the poke here and helped me demolish a bowl. I had the rainbow bowl this time around and it did not disappoint. There can be a long line at times but it moves quickly. Service is great. We usually grab a table outside to eat and bird watch. Beware of birds ... they love the poke too and will land right on your chair or table to see if you will share the goodness.

Hands down one of the best poke I've ever had!! Each time I visit Honolulu, we always come here because it's so good! I usually build my own with tuna and salmon with spicy shoyu and sesame oil. I add cucumbers and seaweed salad and it's so good! Service is pretty quick but sometimes there's lines, but shouldn't take too long. There is an eating area next to the shop but I don't recommend, unless you can eat quickly or you don't mind being visited by birds that want to eat your food. I've actually been attacked by a couple to the point where we had to leave, so please don't feed them, they will never leave.

This place is amazing! I went here basically everyday during lunch time. Each fish tastes so fresh. The smallest size is only $7 but it's also the size of three bites. All the workers are super nice and really busted through every lunch rush. Going here is nice during lunch because you'll see a lot of other parties of one on their lunch break too.

Was not expecting this place to be so freaking good. Walked right up with no line and got a medium bowl with ahi. I mixed the shoyu and house sauce and it was riiihhhllly good. Considering that Waikiki prices are inflated by about twenty percent compared to outside the city, I was surprised at the quality and quantity of food for the price. Definitely got more expensive poke at other places that was not nearly this good.

Came when it was raining so there was no line. Service is friendly and extemely quick. The fish is fresh, and the flavors are on fire. Asked the server to help me combine their two most popular sauces together and he did not disappoint. I ordered the small bowl (I choose salmon, ahi, and marlin) but was still enough to get me full for dinner. Would definitely come back for something delicious and on a budget.

Never judge a book by its cover, I always say! This little poke spot serves up super fresh and delish poke and lucky me, was conveniently located right across the street from my hotel when I visited last summer. Score! There was a little bit of a line but it went fairly quickly. I had already eaten lunch but was still craving poke, so I ordered the smallest size just to get my fix. Like other poke places, you choose rice, salad or both, your fish of choice, sauce preference and toppings. I went with tuna poke with a spicy mayo sauce over half rice, half salad. Kept it simple, nothing fancy and it was perfect. We'll be back in Honolulu in March and I will definitely be dropping by for my poke fix again.
